Back to Fork
The Bum2000 Dharamsala, India
E I was tuckin' in my shirt on the way to work D A E When a bum came up to me I was way behind and when he asked me for a dime D A E I pushed him away from me F C G I said, "Look at yourself your life is so much hell F G When's the last time you took a shower?" F C G He said, "All in good time because that time is mine F G …E Your time won't be yours in an hour…" I made it to work and looked at the jerk Who tells me what to do He gave me a pile of 92 files He said, "Finish these before you're through." I thought, "What would he say if I threw 'em away And walked right out the door What would go down if I pranced around With my pants around the floor…" I woke up in bed with my sheets soakin' wet 'cause the bum had come back to me I was sittin' at my desk; lookin' to the west And he was standin' right in front of me He said, "Better get to work and make some cash for that jerk He's gotta pay for his house by the sea I'm hitchin' my way to those shores today To take a nap under a shady tree…" I made it to work I didn't tuck in my shirt And the boss came up to me He said, "Where is my pile of 92 files They ain't where they're supposed to be?" Well I had it all done but it was time for some fun So I threw 'em all in the air First he got pissed; and then I got dissed With his foot in my derriere… (Jam) So now I ain't got a dime, but my time is all mine And I'm sleepin' under that tree My jerk of a boss is at a hell of a loss 'Cause his house fell into the sea I'm not about to say you gotta throw it all away You don't have to come live like me But give it a shot before your life is all bought You gotta pay a pretty price to be free… D..A..E
